Week #10
this week i completed much of the fundamental game essence that i have been building up to. i'm building up to a playable version that is more than just jumping around an open level. i have implemented an actual point system to the game to add some point to the game. i still ave to implement an antagonist to the game, however this is not my main focus at the moment.

Week #9
this week i spent most of my time perfecting the scene i have been working on for the past couple weeks. after i got this scene down i continued my work on animating and ended up finishing all of my planned animations for the player and now i have started on the animations for dynamic things in the level such as moving objects and enemies. i am still brainstorming on what some of these dynamic objects and entities should be and have been mainly working on thumbnails for some of these characters.

Week #8
This week when i went to test what i have so far i realized that i have no objective or real point to the game besides jumping around a few blocks. After realizing this pointlessness of the game i decided now would be a good time to begin creating objectives, enemies, and other dynamic features. through out the week i focused on adding an objective(such as coins in Mario) and so far have come up with dynamic gems that must be gathered for points(currently the only way to obtain points, this is subject to change). i have come up with some basic totally original gem models such as diamonds, emeralds, and rubies.

week 7
this week i attempted to get a video recording of actual game play however did not create the scene correctly. after my failed attempt i have been looking into how to correctly set up the scene and i have been working on this through out the week. i am close to finishing the scene correctly and should have a video to go with the next blog post.

Week #6
this week i got back to animating he player model. i added a walking animation that is nine frames in total. this is the only thing i was able to do due to the small amount of time i have to work on this. however i am also currently working on testing the first scene(basically a level) to see if i have down the platforms correctly. i will hopefully be able to put up footage of this test in my next blog post if all goes as planned.

Week #5
This week i finished the running animation of the player model which ended up being seven frames in total. After the time consuming and tedious work of designing animations I decided i would take a break from animating and start on the design for the blocks of the game. The blocks are basically the floors, ceilings, and any other solid item of the level. So far i have made my basic blocks that will be used in most of the levels and i have started brainstorming on some other more unique blocks that will be implemented in only a select few levels. After i come up with a few ideas i will begin designing them and then get back to the chore of animating.

week #4
After sorting out most of my technical difficulties i found the software i will be using, which is called Stencyl. this is a free software that allows you to make any type of app from scratch, but takes care of the majority of complex C++ programming. With my software sorted out i started designing the player model(what one will play as in the game) and started do frame by frame animations for said character. so far i have an idle stance and the first half of a running animation which is three frames so far. this concludes everything i have accomplished in the past week.
